This attractive plant has excellent foliage and small, attractive spikes of blue flowers in the summer. The plant shows very good tolerance to drought and cool temperatures, but protect the plant from severe frost damage. The plant releases a stench that our furry intruders, with their incredible powers of scent, can't stand when they get too close. Our experience in growing this plant has also identified its benefits in controlling unwanted flying garden pests namely greenfly and whitefly and we have tested this alongside commercial crops which are prone to these infestation attacks - Petunia Surfinia, Million Bells, Sweet Peas, Tomatoes to name a few and in each trial the results have been the same and the unwanted insects have avoided the area, so even if you don't have a cat problem it could also provide an organic pest control for your valuable plants!
